he Bergère bed is made in the classic French Louis XVI style. The styling of this period was founded on the "Beau Idéal", the idealisation of beauty, based on the purity and grander of the ancient Greeks and Romans. The bed's frame is embellished with the finely detailed, neoclassical styling of hand carved egg and dart work, beading and ribboning. Fleure-de-lys finials, typical of the period, sit a top the bed's posts. The proportions and styling of the bed conveys an overall quiet confidence.
